Christmas at Cornerstone

Yesterday saw an early finish to lessons to allow for a cheery gathering of English language students, teachers, volunteers and trustees at the Manchester Cornerstone for the annual ESOL (English to Speakers of Other Languages) Christmas and end-of-year party.

Carols, quizzes and a blowout meal prepared by the centre’s resident chef were enjoyed by all in an atmosphere of festive fun confectioned by Cornerstone’s management team.

Congratulations to the pre-entry level ESOL team whose uncanny ability to identify well-known celebrities disguised as Santa Claus saw them storm into first place to collect the highly coveted box of Quality Street.
Special thanks to Andres, Musab and Francisco for all their hard work in preparing the party and for the unwavering support they provide throughout the year to the ESOL students and the Train-to-TEFL staff and trainees. An honourable mention to all the volunteers and support staff without whom none of the good work at Cornerstone would be possible.

Merry Christmas to all and a Happy New Year for 2019!
